HOW do you measure the success of your company? It isn't always profit margins and pounds and pence, but acceptance by your local community.

Alan Bennion was at a pub quiz in South Kirkby when the following question was asked: Which company has Every Pane's A Pleaure on the side of its vans?

It was probably the easiest question Alan has ever had to answer - it is the message that has been on Bennion and Sons' vans for more years than he probably cares to remember.

Bennion and Sons Ltd began as building contractors more than 100 years ago and for the last 30 years has been based in South Kirkby specialising in doors, windows and conservatories. Alan, a director if the company, said the aim was to provide a service "to last a life time" as all products were individually designed to meet the specifications of the particular job.

And the company rightly prides itself in its long established reputation. "We do it all - designing, manufacturing and installation and we often find we are going back to jobs that we first installed ten or 15 years ago" said Alan

Family pride in the business is another major factor. Alan, his wife Yvonne and sons Craig, Dean and Sam all work together ensuring the family link that has existed for so long will continue.

The standards are high. "We are the only similar firm in the area whose tradesmen have all been vetted and approved by West Yorkshire Trading Standards" said Alan

Bennion and Sons Ltd will soon be opening a new chapter in its long history with the opening if its first ever showroom at Mill Hill in Ryhill. One thing is certain, the company will be striving for perfection with this new development as it has through the years in every other facet of its work.
